Implants
Implants are made of titanium and are tolerated well
by the body. Implants are placed surgically; they are threaded and
will integrate with the bone where they were placed. This procedure
is done in the office. A local anesthetic is used and an oral sedation
can also be provided for the comfort of the patient. Once the implant
has integrated with the bone, a second surgery may be necessary.
At the time of the second surgery, an abutment will be placed on
the implant. The second surgery is much shorter than the first surgery
and is also done in the office.
